I am both student and teacher and these roles define my path. I make no apologies for these interconnected roles nor do I them as being an incompatible contradiction.
I have always felt that both of these paths lead to a form of enlightenment that lies somewhere between academic pursuits and the power of an exceptional teacher.
When my words, and the words that the couple speak to each other, allow everyone to share in this joy, then all of our lives are enriched, and we continue to grow towards becoming our better selves.
So as to be someone who “walks the talk,” I have been blessed by having a loving and supportive wife, Debra, who functions as our Wedding Coordinator. Over the course of the last 19 years, she has truly been my rock as she calmly helps the couple navigate the legal, administrative, and financial matters so that their stress levels are lowered and they can walk down the path to an amazing ceremony.
About Us
Having walked the halls of academia, the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, and the aisles of hundreds of churches, I think I have learned much about how a deeper understanding of our spiritual selves can be of great value to our lives. I have chosen this as my ministry.
During my continuing years as a student of religion, to include my acquisition of doctorates in Theology and Christian Studies, and and a Master of Christian Education, I have learned that unshared knowledge is nearly worthless and truthfully, a rather selfish pursuit. Over time, I have come to realize that my journey is one of creating a “third space” where the energy of two can create a new oneness.
As I stand before the bride and groom and create this sacred space, I hope that they can carry it with them as they face the challenges of life and that it will help them conquer obstacles with the joy that togetherness brings.
